Evaluation of TERT promoter mutations in tumor biopsies and urine sediment of Moroccan bladder cancer patients

چکیده
Background: Human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) promoter mutations are common genetic events in bladder cancer (BC) and have been recognized as potential biomarkers for BC diagnosis prognosis. Detection of TERT urine-based tests has previously reported to detect primary recurrent BC. This study was planned evaluate hTERT both biopsies urines from patients assess the interest usefulness introducing these better management Morocco.

Deletion analysis of tumor and urinary DNA to detect bladder cancer: urine supernatant versus urine sediment.
The accumulation of genetic alterations plays a role in the evolution of bladder cancer. These changes can be detected in the urine by DNA analysis of the cells exfoliated from the bladder wall enabling us to detect bladder cancer. The urine supernatant, besides the urine sediment, contains DNA, however in a much smaller amount. The origin of DNA in these two fractions is probably different. Ou...
متن کاملTERT Promoter Mutations in Thyroid Cancer.
Two mutations (C228T and C250T) in the promoter region of the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) have recently been described in different types of cancer including follicular cell-derived thyroid cancer (TC). In this paper, we reviewed the rates of these mutations in different types and subtypes of TC, their association with a number of clinical and histopathological features and outcome ...
متن کاملBiochemically detectable tumor markers in urine of bladder cancer patients.
Potential biochemical markers excreted in the urine of bladder cancer patients have been considered, with the conclusion that none alone has yet proven to be useful as a screening procedure for the detection of urothelial cancer. Quantitative fluctuations in urinary levels of several of these markers in combination, such as pseudouridine, beta-amino-isobutyric acid, and fibrinogen degradation p...
